تهدف الاستراتيجية الإقليمية لتعزيز خدمات المختبرات الصحية إلى دعم الدول الأعضاء في توفير الخدمات الشاملة للمختبر من أجل المساهمة في تحسين النتائج الصحية في الإقليم. وهي تقدم التوجيه والقوة الدافعة للبلدان للنظر إلى خدمات المختبرات ليس كعنصر صغير ضمن برنامج الصحة العمودي ولكن للنظر إليها كخدمة دعم شاملة وحاسمة تحتاج إلى أن تصبح جزءًا لا يتجزأ من النظام الصحي على جميع المستويات.
