أيها النساء! أمسكوا بزمام المبادرة
يجري على مستوى العالم الاحتفال باليوم العالمي لمكافحة الإيدز لعام 2008 تحت موضوع القيادة، وشعار الحملة العالمية هو "أيها القادة أوفوا بالعهد: أوقفوا الإيدز" أما شعار الحملة الإقليمي فهو "المرأة: تأخذ بزمام المبادرة".
ولقد كان للقيادات النسائية مساهمات رائعة. فجنبا إلى جنب الرجال، قامت النساء بأعمال إبداعية وفعّالة في مجال مكافحة وباء فيروس العوز المناعي البشري والإيدز.
