12 countries are experiencing increase in new HIV infections since their baseline in 2010 (Afghanistan, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen).
5 countries have managed to bringdown the curve of new HIV infections (Djibouti, Islamic Republic of Iran, Morocco, Somalia and Syria).
Trends in AIDS-related deaths
10 countries have had an increase in AIDS-related deaths since 2010 (Afghanistan, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Syria, United Arab Emirates and Yemen).
7 countries have a decrease in AIDS-related deaths since 2010 (Djibouti, Islamic Republic of Iran, Libya, Morocco, Qatar, Somalia and Sudan).
5 countries have no data (Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman and Palestine).
Overall in the Region, there has been a 41% increase in new HIV infections and a 55% increase in AIDS–related deaths since 2010.
