5 countries have managed to bring down the curve of new HIV infections (Djibouti, Islamic Republic of Iran, Morocco, Somalia and Syria).
Trends in AIDS–related deaths
10 countries have had an increase in AIDS–related deaths since 2010 (Afghanistan, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Syria, United Arab Emirates and Yemen).
7 countries have a decrease in AIDS–related deaths since 2010 (Djibouti, Islamic Republic of Iran, Libya, Morocco, Qatar, Somalia and Sudan).
5 countries have no data (Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman and Palestine).
Overall in the Region, there has been a 41% increase in new HIV infections and a 55% increase in AIDS–related deaths since 2010.
