We serve the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region, which comprises 21 countries and occupied Palestinian territory (including East Jerusalem), with a population of nearly 679 million people. We guide and help these countries take action to reduce deaths from noncommunicable diseases, promote mental health and achieve zero hunger by 2030, to improve health and wellbeing for all, at all ages. We are a team of 30+ professional and administrative staff, national and international consultants, and United Nations Volunteers. Our team includes public health experts including doctors, epidemiologists and managers, in addition to lawyers and communication specialists. We also work with 40+ technical experts across the 21 countries and occupied Palestinian territory (including East Jerusalem), in addition to different partners across government and civil society, as well as other sectors beyond health to better health and well-being for people of all ages around the Region, now and in future, through reduction of the noncommunicable disease burden and promotion of mental health.
