On 8 November 2021, the WHO country office welcomed officials from Oman's national substance use programme. The meeting was attended by the WHO Representative in Oman Dr John Jabbour, WHO technical officers and representatives from Al-Masarra Hospital and Al-Jisr Foundation. They discussed opportunities for collaboration including strengthening the national surveillance system, introducing long-term maintenance programmes, enhancing community initiatives and conducting awareness-raising campaigns addressing substance use and mental health.
