Intercountry meeting on scaling up IMCI strategy in countries implementing IMCI in the Region, 1–4 September 2003

An intercountry meeting was held in Hamamet, Tunisia, from 1 to 4 September 2003 on scaling up the Integrated Management of Child Health (IMCI) strategy in countries implementing IMCI in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.

The specific objectives of the meeting were to:

  • review the experience of implementing the three IMCI components in the early implementation and expansion phases;
  • discuss approaches to accelerate expansion of IMCI, with simultaneous implementation of all the three components of the strategy; and
  • discuss quality assurance mechanisms while scaling up IMCI implementation.
