The Eastern Mediterranean conference of drug regulatory authorities provides an annual forum for drug regulatory authorities of WHO Member States in the Region to meet and discuss ways to strengthen collaboration. In December 2011, the conference was held from in Amman, Jordan with the aim of facilitating collaboration and networking between National Medicines Regulatory Authorities (NMRA) in the Region. Agenda topics included:
update NMRA on latest developments and initiatives in medicines regulations and WHO role in this area;
discuss the regional harmonization agenda on medicines regulation;
Provide a unified vision on the regulation of therapeutic products;
discuss the recommendations of the International Conference for drug regulatory authorities that was held in Singapore in November 2010.
