A team of 9 medical professionals from Pakistan is visiting Oman for peer learning and to exchange experiences on implementation of the Patient Safety Friendly Hospital Initiative (PSFHI).
Oman, a pace setter in the Eastern Mediterranean Region for adopting solutions to better quality care, has implemented PSFHI to standardize the quality of health care across all hospitals and regions of the country. The initiative aims to assess health care facilities from a patient safety perspective, build the capacity of staff, and engage patients in improving health outcomes.
During the introductory meeting on 22 October 2019, with WHO Representative in Oman, Dr Akjemal Magtymova welcomed the Pakistani delegation and briefed them on the patient safety journey in the country and discussed the potential ways of tri-partite cooperation.
