Meeting on safety assessment of two hospitals in Oman

77998408-caf1-4b7f-9ad0-fe958813b92c15 December 2021 – On 2 December 2021, a debriefing meeting was held at the Ministry of Health to listen to the recommendations of two consultants who were invited by the WHO country office to conduct a patient safety assessment of two hospitals in Oman – the Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah and Al-Nahdha Hospital in Muscat.

H.E the Undersecretary for Health Affairs Dr Mohammed Al Hosni and WHO Representative to Oman Dr Jean Jabbour attended the meeting with the director-generals of the two hospitals and Ministry of Health officials working in the areas of quality and patient safety in Oman. 

The consultants gave brief presentations and provided recommendations to the hospitals, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.

Both hospitals successfully passed the assessment and a final report will be sent to them shortly to prioritize actions and implement the recommendations.
