High-level officials attending the multi-professional patient safety curriculum guide conference from 11 to 12 MarchThe multiprofessional patient safety curriculum guide aims to strengthen the commitment of Member States to patient safety education. The curriculum guide lays the foundation for capacity-building in essential patient safety principles and concepts in the fields of dentistry, medicine, midwifery, nursing and pharmacy. 100 policy- and decision-makers from the countries of the Region attended the inauguration of this regional event on 11 March 2012, organized by the WHO Regional Office of the Eastern Mediterranean, in collaboration with the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital. During the workshop which took place on 12 March 2012, they have discussed the opportunities and obstacles for implementing a multidisciplinary patient safety curriculum, as well as strategies to enhance opportunities and overcome obstacles. It focused on the tools and implementation strategy of the curriculum guide, country experiences and plans for patient safety education.
