The Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) Egypt fact sheet and country report provide the results of the survey conducted in Egypt. So far in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, GATS has only been implemented in Egypt. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Atlanta, are working closely to expand the survey to cover additional countries within the Region.
All survey information was compiled by the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics and the WHO country office, and technically reviewed by WHO and CDC. The content of the fact sheets and country reports has not otherwise been edited by WHO or CDC.
