The Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) Qatar fact sheet provides the results of the survey conducted in Qatar. So far in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, GATS has only been implemented in Egypt and Qatar. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Atlanta are working closely to expand the survey to cover additional countries within the Region.
All survey information was compiled by the Supreme Council of Health and the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics. Technical assistance was provided by WHO, CDC, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Research Triangle Institute International. Program support was provided by the CDC Foundation.
