Global Health Professions Student Survey fact sheets and country reports
The Global Health Professions Student Survey (GHPSS) fact sheets and country reports provide the results of the various survey rounds conducted in countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Region. All survey information is compiled within the participating country by a research coordinator nominated by the ministry of health, and technically reviewed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The content of the fact sheets and country reports has not otherwise been edited by WHO or CDC.
Certain country reports are only available in the official language of that country.

Global Health Professions Student Survey
What is the Global Health Professions Student Survey?
The Global Health Professions Student Survey (GHPSS), initiated in 2005, is a school-based survey of third-year students pursuing advanced degrees in dentistry, medicine, nursing and pharmacy. GHPSS uses a common methodology and core questionnaire to systematically monitor health professions students' tobacco use and track trends over time in tobacco-related knowledge, attitudes, behaviours and environmental influences.
GHPSS data
GHPSS includes information on demographics, prevalence of cigarette smoking and other tobacco use (smoked and smokeless), knowledge and attitudes about tobacco use, exposure to second-hand smoke, desire for smoking cessation and training received regarding patient counselling on smoking cessation techniques.
