A pre-Regional Committee meeting took place the day before the opening session of the Regional Committee to prepare a revised discussion paper on the comprehensive global monitoring framework for consultation with Member States. Regional working groups reported to the Regional Committees and collated their summary contributions to the formal meeting of Member States which took place from 5 to 7 November 2012. The meeting also discussed the current status and progress made in the development of the comprehensive global monitoring framework, including indicators, and a set of voluntary global targets for the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases.
