The WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean conducted a consultative meeting on developing a regional noncommunicable diseases action plan in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, from 11 to 13 April 2010.
The objectives of the meeting were to:
develop a regional noncommunicable diseases action plan in line with the Global Strategy and Action Plan (2008–2013)
establish a framework for the national adoption and implementation of the regional noncommunicable diseases action plan.
Regional experts and international experts on noncommunicable diseases and staff from WHO headquarters and regional offices participated in the meeting.
