The objectives of the noncommunicable disease network for research are to:
- enhance regional discussions on the prevention and control of noncommunicable disease programmes
- promote collaboration on noncommunicable disease research and training
- improve networking and the sharing of experiences among regional noncommunicable disease experts and institutions
- strengthen research capacity and advocate for the conducting of regional research on priority noncommunicable disease areas
- enhance evidence-based decision-making processes
