Intercountry meetings of directors of poliovirus laboratories in the Region review performance of poliovirus laboratories, provide technical information on issues related to the global polio eradication programme and develop recommendations for further improvement in laboratory performance. These meetings are attended by responsible officers from national poliovirus laboratories of the Region and advisers from global specialized poliovirus laboratories.
